About the Program

A Happier You ® was developed in 2017 by Dr. Scott Glassman to help people achieve greater life satisfaction by increasing positive thoughts, feelings, and actions.  It’s a 7-session program that includes evidence-based practices from the field of positive psychology in 7 key areas: catching positive events, personal strengths and accomplishments, gratitude, humor, enjoyable and meaningful activities, kindness, and love. The program has both group and individual formats, which can be completed in person or online.

What Do I Do In “A Happier You”?

Each week participants learn and develop wellness skills in one of the 7 key Core Positivity Practice areas. Activities include identifying an inventory of personal strengths, positivity spotlighting, mindfulness, acts of kindness, and gratitude expression—among others. You are also given access to the Happier You mobile app, worksheets, newsletter, and a supportive global Facebook community of over 2000 people.

How Could “A Happier You” Help Me?

Participants report a greater intensity and wider variety of positive emotions at the end of the program, as well as fewer negative emotions.  They also say they feel more energetic.  Participants have described the program as helping them experience life in more positive ways, manage stress more effectively, and strengthen a positive sense of self.  Please note that A Happier You is an educational program and not intended to be a substitute for professional therapy.  It is also likely not a good match if you are experiencing severe levels of depression, anxiety, substance use, or another mental health disorder.

How Do I Enroll in Individual Sessions?
