Resilience and Burnout Prevention for Professionals
This 8 week Resilience Course will help you to reduce professional burnout and build on your innate resilience.
Dr. Angela Kurzyna has facilitating burnout prevention and resilience training groups for nurses and medical residents in major hospitals in the area for the last five years. This program is evidence-based and has shown to be effective in reducing burnout and perceived professional stress.
You will learn to:
- Be more aware of the signs and symptoms of professional burnout
- Use relaxation, mindfulness and self regulation strategies to counteract stress and emotional reactivity
- Communicate more skillfully with coworkers and those whom you may find difficult
- Use cognitive and affective strategies to build resilience
- Develop a sustainable self care plan so that your job of caring for others can include caring for yourself

Outcomes:
- Significantly reduced levels of emotional exhaustion, a key factor in burnout as measured by the Maslach Burnout Scale.
- Significant reduction in perceived stress as measured by the Perceived Stress Scale
