Jocelyn Elderton Psy.D.
Dr. Elderton is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked with diverse individuals managing a variety of challenges including, but not limited to, emotion dysregulation, chronic health conditions, caring for someone with a chronic health condition, acute stress, trauma, burnout, grief, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, high self-criticism, and emotional eating.
Dr. Elderton has been trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and draws from these modalities when providing treatment. She values mindfulness interventions and recognizes the importance of both acceptance-based and change-based coping. Though evidence-based treatment is the basis of her approach, she understands that each person has a unique perspective and knows the best work occurs within a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
Dr. Elderton earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from La Salle University. She has trained in a variety of mental health settings including community mental health, hospital based psychiatric programs, and behavioral medicine settings such as Cooper University Hospital’s Early Intervention Program and Drexel Center City Clinic for Behavioral Medicine. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems and her postdoctoral fellowship at Penn Medicine Princeton House Behavioral Health, Women’s Program.
